Welcome Amelia- A Birth Story
For Amelia’s 1st birthday, we headed down to Oak Island, NC with my family to celebrate and relax at the beach for a week. It warms my heart knowing how much my mom and sister do to be involved in Easton and Amelia’s lives. I’ll share more of our time at the beach later, but for now, here’s the celebration we had for our sweet Amelia!
My sister took Easton’s 1st birthday pictures at the beach, so we had to follow suit with Amelia. Taking a one year old’s photo is never easy – timing is everything! But when we do time it right, her smile is infectious!
I bought this crown when Amelia was born to photograph her in it every year. Year 1 was challenging!
I spent everyday with this little girl for the first year of her life and I can’t say enough how happy she makes me. A year has flown by in a blink, but I can’t wait to see what special gifts she’s going to bring to our family as she grows. Her sense of humor is already evident.

I may have a small love for flamingos, so when deciding on what decor to use for her party, the choice was obvious. Also, when you find the perfect birthday outfit, it kinda solidifies the deal.
I found this adorable cake topper from Etsy, of course! I’m proud to say that I have continued the tradition of baking the kids’ birthday cakes! I love how hers turned out.
First up were presents! She was so happy getting to open up and play with her new toys.
And I was pretty happy seeing her open up some new clothes!
The birthday girl with Uncle Growler and Aunt KiKi, our photogs for the day!
After presents, it was time to sing happy birthday and eat some cake! Easton was one step ahead of us.
After some brief instruction on what to do, she dove in, literally!
One happy birthday girl!
She didn’t even mind when Daddy and brother swooped in for a bite.
This was undoubtedly the best day of her life until we took the cake away. She went from ecstatic to down right angry reaaaaal quick. Want to see her cry? Take her food away! She does not play!
Logan hosed her off outside before putting her down for a nap.
The aftermath of a good birthday party. She partied hard!
We spent the rest of the day playing, relaxing, and taking photos on the beach. I’d say her first birthday was a great success!
Easton was adamant that his shirt be open for these pictures. Who am I to squander his fashion sense? I mean, whatever it takes to get the kid to smile!

Happy 1st birthday, Amelia! You have completed our family and we love you to the moon and back!

Great pictures and such a cute family! The cake pictures are the best though.
