With Spring here, there are so many fresh flowers growing in our yard.  So I thought I’d use some of them to make this fresh flower crown. That’s right, all of these flowers came from my yard! How much cheaper can you get than that? The only cost was a few floral supplies.

This is really a great craft project for flower girls in a wedding (not to mention the money you’ll save) or just to play dress up around the house. What girl doesn’t like wearing a crown?? I’m an adult and I liked wearing it! Easton on the other hand wasn’t so excited about it, typical boy for ya!

Here’s what you’ll need:

• flowers
• floral tape
• floral wire

I first grouped several flowers in a bunch and taped them together with floral tape.

Then, I took the floral wire and wrapped it around my head to judge what size to make it. After cutting the wire, I simply twisted the ends around each other to finish it off. This will be the base of your crown.

Next, take a group of flowers and place it on the wire, wrapping floral tape around both to hold the flowers on the wire. Simply repeat this process until you’ve covered all the wire (or as much as you’d like to cover) overlapping the groups as you go.

You can make it as intricate or as simple as you’d like. I added some foxtail ferns intermittently to add some greenery to my crown, and I love the way it turned out! They don’t last too long, all depending on what type of flowers you use. Placing it in the refrigerator when you’re done will help prolong your crown’s life.
