Sleeping patterns: Amelia is staying awake for longer periods during the day now. She will eat and then be alert for a few hours before taking another nap. She has been going to bed around 2030 and waking up around 0300 to eat before waking up to start the day at around 0700. She even slept for 7 hours straight one night! 1800 to around 2000 seems to be her fussy time. If she isn’t eating or being held, she’s crying. I think I’ll take two bad hours out of the day for 6-7 straight hours of sleep at night!
Feeding schedule: Amelia is doing great breast feeding and growing faster by the minute! She eats every 3-4 hours during the day and then cluster feeds from 1800-2000 every night. She is still just waking up once during the night to eat.
Sounds and motions she makes: Amelia loves to chat with me in the form of coos and smiles. Sometimes we’ll chat back and forth for several minutes, enjoying our own little conversation. She is also grabbing things that I place in her hand and loves spinning around in her crib while being swaddled.
Likes and dislikes: Amelia enjoys listening to music while playing on her activity mat and doing her fly, back, breast, and freestyle leg exercises with help from me. Can you tell I used to be a swimmer? She loves to be held and snuggled and included in what everyone is doing. She enjoys walks in her stroller, warm baths, being talked to, and pooping right after I change her diaper. She dislikes a pacifier (just like her brother), waiting for food, and not having a boob in her mouth from 1800-2000.
By the end of the month, she is learning to: Amelia is sitting up with help now and holds her head up for a good amount of time before getting tired. She is learning to “talk” more and respond to my facial expressions. She smiles often and is able to hold herself up longer during tummy time.
She is just adorable and looks so happy!
