Welcome Amelia- A Birth Story
When we asked Easton what kind of birthday party he wanted this year, he was very adamant that it be a pirate party! I’m not sure how his love of pirates really started, but one day all he wanted us to make him out of Legos was a pirate ship (and we have made some epic pirate ships, might I add). So sit right down and see the swashbuckling good time we had. It’s arrgh-uably the best pirate pirate I’ve ever seen!
Logan carved out the watermelon pirate ship and did a fantastic job! Who says fruit bowls have to be boring?
The outside table was turned into a pirate ship!
This year was the first year we invited a few of Easton’s friends from school. He was so excited to have them at his house to play.
All the kids got to take a few swings at the pirate ship pinata before Logan had to help them bust it open.
Our friend and babysitter, Jenna, with Amelia. She was a good first mate and slept almost the entire party.
Holding true to tradition, I made Easton’s birthday cake. Logan has now been hired as my icing manager and I think it turned out quite well!
Easton was very aware that it was his birthday this year. I made the mistake of telling him a week before his actual birthday and he proceeded to ask me everyday if that day was his birthday. I think he really enjoyed having everyone sing happy birthday to him. He stood there with a huge smile on his face while we all sang and then immediately knew to blow out the candle once we finished. Logan and I were a little surprised that he knew what to do so well. No more help from mommy and daddy blowing out the candles. 🙁
Next it was on to the hurricane of gift opening. The picture on the right pretty much sums it up. I have no idea what happened in those brief moments but I do know that I will be putting up a fence next year for the other kids. Haha. I’m only kidding! Maybe…
Thank you to all of our friends for helping us celebrate Easton’s third birthday! He said his pirate party was fun! So much fun, that he decided he couldn’t take a nap and stayed up the entire day! Shiver me timbers!!

Great pictures! Addison decided this year she wanted a pirate party too! I thought for sure she would go for trains (she loves Thomas right now) but she wanted pirates. We had the same balloon and decorations from Target. What is it about three year olds and pirates?!
Haha, Becca! Easton had a train party last year! Wish we lived closer, seems like they’d have a blast together.
