Welcome Amelia- A Birth Story
Christmas day this year was extra special for a lot of reasons. First, it was Amelia’s first Christmas. Second, Easton finally has a good idea of what is going on and seeing him excited makes us excited. He loved looking at the Christmas decorations this year, making and putting out cookies for Santa, and opening his presents. I was able to tell him the story of how baby Jesus was born and he did a great job pointing him out whenever he saw a nativity. Little things like that make me happy. Finally, what made this Christmas so special was that we were able to spend it with my mom (Grandma), sister (Aunt KiKi), and brother-in-law (Uncle Growler). I’m not sure when that will happen again, so I tried to soak it all in. I know they enjoyed getting to see Easton open up his presents and be with Amelia for her first Christmas.
There were lots of presents opened!
Even Semper got a present.
This was by far, our best present this Christmas!
Don’t know if I can say the same thing for Easton. Even though he loves his baby sister, I think it’s safe to say that THIS was his favorite present.
His very own riding tractor complete with a bed for Semper.
This thing has a 12-volt battery, people! We had to run to keep up with him. He had it down too after only an hour or so of driving it.
After our morning run, we enjoyed my mom’s famous french toast and lounged around the house before stuffing our faces again with a delicious Christmas dinner. And do you want to know the best part? I didn’t have to cook a thing! Food always tastes better when you aren’t the one slaving away in the kitchen all day. I think that’s a fact. I WAS put on dish duty, but I figured it was a fair trade off.
All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas spent with family, but I am looking forward to getting moved in to our new home and being able to put up our own Christmas decorations next year. Hopefully we’ll have some visitors in our guest room next Christmas. 🙂
