- Height: 41.2″
- Weight: 37 lbs
- Sleep schedule: Bed time is at 2000 and he wakes up around 0700. Nap time is at 1230 and lasts for 1-2 hours. On days that he has preschool in the afternoon, he does go without a nap, but we can tell how tired he is without one.
- Favorite foods: Easton still likes all the foods he did 6 months ago, but he is doing better at branching out and trying new things when we make him. He will devour a salad and loves it when I make meatball subs for dinner.
- Speech: Easton is a walking sponge now for everything we say. Just the other day I heard him say, “oh my lanta!” I can’t even remember what it was like when he didn’t talk because he talks ALL.THE.TIME! And at the doctor’s office he told them they needed to listen to his heart “beep.” Sometimes it’s just too cute to correct. He soaks up everything he hears and it is quite hilarious to hear him say some of the things that both Logan and I say. Logan and I just laughed when he called me Sarah one day. A few of his favorite phrases are, “that’s ridiculous”, “hey, what’s the big idea?”, and “that’s what I’m talking about!” He heard someone say shut up and repeated it one day. Logan and I quickly explained that we don’t say that. A few days later, Logan was telling me something exciting and I said, “shut up” in a “get out of town” sort of way and Easton was quick to remind me that we didn’t say that word. After a good laugh, we attempted to explain the difference, but I still had to apologize for saying it. Sometimes I have no idea where he gets things from. Here’s a conversation we had in the car one day. Easton: “Sometimes I love you, sometimes I don’t, because that’s what boys do. That’ll be ok, right?” I mean, how can you be mad at that? He also makes up for it when you do something as small as making him breakfast and he says, “awww, thank you Mommy!” He says it in the most endearing way too. The first time he said it, I honestly thought he was being sarcastic!
- Likes and dislikes: Easton loves playing outside with his neighborhood friends. He even got to experience duck hunting this fall with Logan and had a blast. He likes to be indoors too though-reading books, playing with his rescue bots, legos, or dressing up and playing doctor. Some of his favorite TV shows are Paw Patrol, Rescue Bots, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Team Umi Zoomi, and Mickey Mouse. Easton dislikes change. I mentioned to him briefly that we would be moving into a new home one day and he didn’t hesitate to tell me that he liked his current house just fine and didn’t want to move. He could eat the same things every day and be perfectly ok. School work is also not high on his “likes” list, but when it finally clicks, he gets excited. He has a hard time remembering school related things, but he can tell you all the characters’ names from his TV shows. He seriously has the best memory for random stuff! He does get scared easily and doesn’t like being left alone except at bed time. He is definitely our cautious child. He loves entertaining Amelia and making her laugh, but has quickly realized that he does not like it when she takes his toys to play with them. He is also quick to alert us when she has done something wrong.
- He is learning to: Easton is great at feeding Semper now and helping me with small tasks around the house such as setting the dinner table and helping to cook a little. Logan even “trained” (or begged) him to throw away Amelia’s dirty diapers. Score! He can dress himself and only has a hard time with taking off his shirt for the undressing part. He knows his ABC’s and his numbers up to 10. We started working with him on writing his name and he is getting better. We are working on the concept of time as he gets later today, yesterday, tonight, etc. confused. He will literally ask you 10 times when we are going to do something that he is excited about. I will sometimes tell him, school is in just a few more hours, he will say, “awww, I wanted to go to school today!”

Easton is truly a kind hearted little boy. He will come up to me and give me a hug just because and tell me how much he loves me. He loves snuggling on the couch with us or Semper, and even though he gets annoyed with Amelia, he is always looking out for her. He is definitely very sensitive and doesn’t like to be in trouble. If Logan or I have to get onto him about something, he almost always tears up. I’m pretty sure he got that from me. His favorite movie this year has been Pixar’s Dragons. He loves watching the movie and then grabbing some toys and reenacting the different parts. He’s getting quite good at the sound effects. He is definitely a creature of habit and doesn’t like change. When trying a new food, we pretty much have to make him eat it if it’s not something he’s seen before. He has loved dressing up in old Halloween costumes, sometimes even wearing them outside. I love seeing his imagination grow, so I’ve only said no when he asked for a real knife like the character Toothless had on Dragons. We compromised on a shirt hanger instead. He also did much better at swim lessons this past summer and even jumped off the diving board! Like most four year olds, he thinks the word “poop” is hilarious, loves a good sword fight, and never steers clear of a puddle. Most of all though, Easton keeps us laughing- four year olds are pretty funny – and he impresses us everyday with his manners. We’re looking forward to all the new things he’ll be doing in just a short year.
