Sleeping patterns: Amelia loves to sleep! She sleeps most of the day, only waking to eat and do a little tummy time before falling back asleep. I have been putting her to sleep in her crib at around 2100 each night and she doesn’t wake until around 0300 to eat before going back to sleep until 0630. She has been doing this consistently now for the last several weeks and I feel extremely lucky!
Feeding schedule: Amelia sleeps so much that I often have to wake her to feed her. She is breastfeeding and gaining weight like a champ! Usually during the day she eats every 3 hours and at night she has been going one good 6 hour stretch before getting hungry again.
Sounds and motions she makes: Amelia loves to serenade us with the sweetest cooing and grunting sounds. Her cry is soft and I’m sometimes worried I might not hear her at night! She loves to stretch out and suck her hand when she gets hungry.
Likes and dislikes: Her favorites this month include eating and sleeping! She also enjoys going outside, riding in the Baby K’Tan, looking at her reflection in the mirror and being snuggled. She dislikes being hot and sweaty in her car seat which has been hard to avoid this past month. She also dislikes when mommy is too slow to feed her.
By the end of the month, she is learning to: Amelia was holding her head up quite well five days after birth! She is growing like a weed and getting stronger and stronger every day.
