Sleeping patterns: Amelia is sleeping through the night! She goes to bed at 1800 and wakes up around 0630. She is napping twice a day at around 0900 and 1300.
Feeding schedule: I finished breastfeeding Amelia this month and have been trying to introduce organic whole milk. So far, she isn’t a fan, but I’m hoping she’ll come around. Water is the only other drink she has been getting, so I’m glad she likes it. I feel like for food I should list the things she doesn’t like because she likes just about everything! If she sees you eating any kind of food without her, she will quickly make her way to you and demand a bite, unless it’s green beans – she still isn’t a fan of those. She eats three meals a day and snacks in between. I think she’d eat all day if we’d let her.
Sounds and motions she makes: Amelia loves saying “mama” now and is still babbling up a storm. The funniest noise she makes is a “Mmmmmm” sound while she’s eating. She has learned to wave and will lean in to give you a kiss. We also have a lion finger puppet that we will wear and say “roar” to and she loves to roar back! She’s great at mimicking sounds that she hears others making. She loves standing up in her highchair or sitting on the tray while eating her food. We have had to resort to strapping her in at every meal time now.
Likes and dislikes: Amelia’s favorite activity right now would definitely be eating. Coming in a close second place would be exploring new things. She loves crawling around and finding new things to play with. She loves a new toy and quickly gets tired of old ones. She loves to laugh especially if she hears others laughing. She’s a snuggler and still loves to be carried and smiled at. Easton still amuses her with his funny antics and she takes after me in her love for stuffed animals. Logan brought her back a poodle from his work trip and she smiled the biggest smile while reaching to hug it. She had a great time at the beach for her birthday and loved getting to go for a ride on the boogie board. She is fearless! She dislikes having to wait for a meal and missing her naps. Keep her fed and well rested and you’re golden!
By the end of the month, she is learning to: Amelia has been teething a lot, and from what I can tell, she has some molars coming in. So between teething and me weaning her, she’s been a little fussy and clingy this month. Nonetheless, she is super close to walking. She can stand up by herself and will cruise along as long as she’s holding onto something for balance. You can tell she’s thinking about it, but before she takes her first step, she sits back down and crawls. She loves turning the cable box off and seeing everyone’s reaction. She is already starting the process of having Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She’s pretty hard to resist when she flashes her smile your way. She enjoys waving at us and will usually wave on command. She responds to her name pretty quickly now and is one tough cookie. When she hurts herself, she cries for a few seconds and then carries right along! She has perfected “mama” and the lion noise and her laugh is completely contagious.
