Sleeping patterns: About a week after Amelia turned 2 months old, her sleeping patterns unfortunately changed. I just knew it had to be too good to be true! She goes to bed around 2000 and wakes up 2-3 times a night to eat. I am one tired mama! She always greets me with a smile at 0300 though so it’s hard to stay mad. Her longest nap is in the morning from around 1000 to 1300. She still gets fussy around 1700-2000 but she is definitely getting better.
Feeding schedule: She eats every 3-4 hours during the day and then cluster feeds from 1700-2000 every night. She wakes up 2-3 times during the night to eat as well.
Sounds and motions she makes: Amelia loves squealing loudly when she gets excited and loves to ‘chat’ with us. If I am watching tv while feeding her, sometimes she stops and when I look down she has the biggest smile on her face when I acknowledge her. She just loves attention and smiling. She has also started grabbing a butterfly toy and bringing it up to her mouth to gum. I also started putting her on a play mat that has a keyboard she can kick and she loves doing that while batting the hanging toys with her hands.
Likes and dislikes: Amelia loves being held or assisted while she stands. During the day we will dance together or go outside for fresh air and enjoy a nice chat together. I love seeing her smile and laugh when she’s happy. She also enjoys listening to story time when I read to Easton. To allow me to cook dinner in the evenings, I put on some music and place her on the counter while I cook and she’s really been enjoying that! She has found a happy spot with daddy, laying on her belly while he cradles her in one arm. She dislikes sitting in the car seat for too long and waiting on a meal!
By the end of the month, she is learning to: Amelia’s legs are getting strong! She loves to be held upright so that she can stand. I have a feeling she’ll be an early walker. She is interacting more with her toys by bringing them up to her mouth and batting or kicking toys on her play mat. I also feel like she really recognizes our faces now and lights up with a huge smile when she sees me or Logan.
