Sleeping patterns: Amelia goes to bed at 1800 and wakes up around 2200 and 0200 to eat before going back down. She is usually up by 0630 ready to start the day! Me? Not so much. Her morning nap is around 0900, with an afternoon nap around 1200 and a late afternoon nap at 1500.
Feeding schedule: Amelia is breastfeeding every 4 hours or so and still eating solid food twice a day. We just recently let her chew on a celery stick while at dinner and she really enjoyed that. But her favorite new food to try has been vanilla ice cream! I’m sure she would have eaten the entire cone had we let her.
Sounds and motions she makes: Amelia still loves jabbering and saying lots of, “da, da, da” syllables. I am working with her daily to learn ma-ma-ma syllables too! She is a professional bouncer now in her jumperoo and goes to town when we put her in it and loves shaking her head from side to side when she’s happy. She still prefers standing to sitting or being on her tummy. She is getting so strong and can pull herself up on something if we help her.
Likes and dislikes: Amelia has enjoyed sitting in the wagon this month and going for rides outside. She also loves vanilla ice cream! Grandma came into town recently and Amelia was treated to her first few licks of an ice cream cone. There’s not much that she doesn’t enjoy putting in her mouth. She thinks Easton is hilarious and I love seeing the huge smile on her face when she sees one of us. Smiling is definitely one of the things she enjoys doing the most, and it can definitely brighten a room. She enjoys toys with music and lights and loves to bounce up and down in my arms. She only gets upset if we walk by her and ignore her after she’s been playing a while or when she’s tired. Her biggest dislike is when she gets a hold of something she’s not supposed to have and I take it away from her!
By the end of the month, she is learning to: Amelia is becoming a professional bouncer and chewer of all things! She is getting stronger and learning how to pull herself up while holding onto things. She now has four teeth. Her bottom two central incisors and her upper lateral incisors have all come through. She looks like a little vampire baby and I’m having to keep a bib on her most of the time to wipe up some of the drool! The upper central incisors don’t look like they’re far behind though. She also is really learning how to laugh out loud, especially when we tickle her.
