Sleeping patterns: Amelia has done better this month with sleeping through the night after a few nights of letting her cry it out. She still goes to bed at 1800 and wakes up around 0500. I’ll feed her and she’ll go back to sleep until 0730 or 0800. Her morning nap is around 1000 and her afternoon nap is around 1400. Sometimes if she doesn’t nap long during her afternoon nap, she will take a 30 minute snooze around 1600.
Feeding schedule: Amelia is eating solid food three times a day and breastfeeding in between. She loves her puffs and eyes just about everything we eat.
Sounds and motions she makes: Amelia is so close to crawling! She will rock back and forth while on her knees and move her legs, but hasn’t gotten anywhere yet. It won’t be long! She loves trying to feed herself and bringing everything she can get her hands on to her mouth. She still loves to squeal out loud and jabbers up a storm and has the best smile in the entire world.
Likes and dislikes: Amelia loves eating food and putting everything in her mouth, except cold food. She enjoys standing up at her activity center, playing with her brother, and snuggling up with the pink blanket Grandma made her. She loves being outside and got to visit the beach for the first time this month! She still loves bouncing in your lap and loves to be carried around everywhere so she’s included. She does get frustrated when she tries crawling but can’t get to what she wants and she gets very upset if mommy disappears! She still dislikes being put in her car seat and protests loudly if she misses her 1800 bedtime. I just recently put her in the seat instead of her car seat that attached to her stroller and she thoroughly enjoyed that. I’m sure getting to see where she was going was a nice change.
By the end of the month, she is learning to: Amelia is getting stronger at pulling herself up. We finally just lowered her crib to the next setting. She is getting ready to start crawling and has really mastered the pincer grasp. She is so much more mobile now- this was the first month that taking her picture was difficult. Changing her diaper is like wrestling an alligator now! She now has six teeth. Her bottom two central incisors, upper lateral incisors, and upper central incisors have all come through. She enjoys chewing on cold teethers to help with the discomfort.
