Welcome Amelia- A Birth Story
On the Saturday of Easton’s 2nd birthday, we had a small train-themed party at our house with one of his sweet friends who happens to live down the street. I can’t say that I’ve been planning this party for months now because honestly, I didn’t even know what theme I was going to do until a few weeks before. While there were about a hundred party ideas I thought were cute on Pinterest, this boy is in love with trains. So how could we not throw him a train party? My mom and sister are awesome and flew in from Florida to help. I kept it pretty simple because, while two is a very important age, he’s still only just that, two! And I will avoid the craziness of a bunch of kids running around my home for as long as I can!
Since I made Easton’s cake last year (and after an absurd quote from a baker), Logan encouraged me to make his cake again this year. I must say, I was pretty proud at how it turned. It even tasted great and was fondant free!
Easton’s main gift from us was a train set. And where’s a boy to put a large train set? On a train table, of course! Logan worked all week making this beautiful train table . It truly belongs in a Pottery Barn catalog! He is currently now in the lead for best “crafter” in our house. I added a little bit of flair to the table by painting a picture that goes underneath the train set.
We let Easton see his train set as soon as he woke up so he could be somewhat social for his party and not pee his pants. He was one excited little boy!
Easton and his friend, Reagan, playing with his new train set.
After some lunch, it was time to blow out the birthday candle! His smile makes it all worth it. 🙂
I think he was happy with the icing!
The birthday crew!
After presents, it was more (believe it or not) train time and getting to play with some of his new toys.
A conductor hat and whistle fit for a train master! This boy is serious about his choo choos.
The birthday boy!
It was a very successful 2nd birthday and Easton had a blast!
Thank you so much to everyone that celebrated Easton’s birthday with us! Whether it was a phone call, text, card, or gift, we appreciated all the love for our little boy! And special thanks to my mom and sister for all your help. I expect to see you at every birthday party, ya hear?!
