Welcome Amelia- A Birth Story
The fair has arrived here in San Diego and we were able to go the opening weekend with some friends.
Our first stop was straight to the food! Is it sad that when I think of the fair, food instantly comes to mind? Logan’s choice was a massive turkey leg that he said was delicious.
Easton and I shared a foot long corn dog that was bigger than his head!
Then it was off to kiddie land in search of some rides! Probably not the best order of business, but since we knew we wouldn’t be riding any stomach turning fair rides, food was the first priority.
Easton’s first stop was to ride a horse which, after hopping on, he quickly decided he was done. It’s so funny how one time they absolutely love something and the next, they want nothing to do with it!
Then it was down the large slide! The boys loved this and ended up going down several times.
Easton was so excited all afternoon. He rode on top of Logan’s shoulders in between rides and kept whispering, “something else, Daddy, something else.” So glad he likes riding rides as much as we do!
After a few more knee cramping rides for Logan (since they frown upon pregnant women riding the rides) and an ice cream cone for me, we let Easton ride by himself on a Thomas the Train ride. He absolutely loved it and couldn’t stop smiling and waving at us every time he came around.
After a quick stop through the petting zoo, we picked up a battery operated bubble machine that might be considered one of the best $10 purchases we made all month. Easton enjoyed showering everyone with bubbles as we walked through the fair and was thoroughly entertained.
After several hours of walking around, our legs informed us that it was time to go home. Logan definitely was hurting from scrunching into all those kiddie rides. They were not made for someone with bilateral acl repairs. So props to him! All in all though, it was a great fair and a fun filled afternoon (made even better by the fact that we didn’t have to carry out a massive stuffed animal!).
Don’t worry, we snuck in a funnel cake on our way out! What’s a fair without a funnel cake?
