Welcome Amelia- A Birth Story
My mom and my sister make such an effort to visit me as often as they can. Who am I kidding? They come to see Easton. I’d like to pretend that they’d come visit as often as they do now even if I hadn’t given birth to Easton, but I think I’d be fooling myself. They did come visit me once a year when I lived in Hawaii, but who wouldn’t want to stay for free in Hawaii? Regardless of their motives, I enjoy their visits and am always counting down the days until their next one. This trip, they decided to come together, and it worked out perfectly because we were all together for Mother’s Day!
The five days they were here went by quickly, as usual, but we were able to squeeze in a few pictures of some of our activities. Was there any doubt that we wouldn’t? 🙂
On Friday, we visited the Flower Fields again in Carlsbad. My mom wanted to go and Kylene wanted to take a few pictures of Easton.
A must-do on our list was the Torrey Pines hike. It’s an easy hike with gorgeous views that ends up at the ocean. You may remember me writing about it a few months ago.
After the hike, we played around on the beach a bit and took some photos.
Easton practicing jumping off the rock with a helpful hand from dad.
A solo shot with Grandma and a blurry group photo thanks to a sweet passerby who was a little intimidated by my camera. Thanks, anyways!
After the hike, we fueled up at Crepes and Corks, a little restaurant and wine bar in Del Mar that served yummy mimosas and crepes. Then, it was nap time for everyone!
That evening, Logan made us reservations at World Famous, a restaurant overlooking Pacific Beach. It’s a good thing our seats were indoors because Easton is still deathly afraid of the ocean. I don’t know what it is, maybe the crashing waves, but he wants nothing to do with it! He was clinging to me for dear life! I’ll take the snuggle time when I can though…
The boardwalk out front was a great place to people watch though. It made for a very entertaining dinner, plus the food was good, so Logan got double points for his pick.
On Mother’s Day, Logan surprised me with an awesome gift. I have been wanting a beach cruiser bike for a while now, but he went one step further and added a seat for Easton! I don’t know who was more excited. I will say that it has created a bit of a problem getting in and out of the car because Easton sees it on his way out and demands a ride! I have had an upset little boy for a few mornings now! Here’s a few pictures my sister took with her iphone, pay no attention to Trigger.
Logan also made reservations for us that morning at The Pinnacle restaurant at Falkner Winery (he was on a roll, huh?). We enjoyed a delicious brunch, all while overlooking some gorgeous views of the vineyards.
I really enjoyed getting to celebrate Mother’s Day with these ladies!
Easton was tired of sitting still through brunch and THEN having to endure pictures. He wanted me to know that my time was up…little stinker.
Buttttt, I made him take one more with us and then he was off!
It was a beautiful Mother’s Day at the winery! Thank you, Logan, for doing all that you did and putting up with three moms!
The rest of our time together was spent playing around the house, reading books, eating pie from Julian’s pie company around the bonfire, shopping, picture taking, and computer time for Kylene and I (I love when she comes to visit because I have a blogging partner!). We even took Easton to his first real puppet show at Balboa Park. He surprised us all and sat through the thirty minute show! I can’t say the same for Grandma or KiKi who fell asleep. I’m sure keeping up with a toddler for five days wore them out!
I’m always sad to see them go, but I know it won’t be long before I see them again. Thanks for coming to see us, ladies! Love you both!
