Welcome Amelia- A Birth Story
Back in May, we decided to drive down to Florida to watch The Players tournament at TPC Sawgrass. Logan loves to play golf and since we were finally back on the east coast, we knew we wanted to go this year. The tournament is in Jacksonville, which is where my mom lives, so we decided to head down a few days early to visit with family. My mom always rolls out the red carpet for us when we come, just staying at her house is like a vacation in itself!
First stop was the beach. This was a special beach trip because it was Amelia’s first time! Easton has never been a big fan of the beach but he actually surprised me and had a good time as well.
The only problem was trying to keep her from putting sand in her mouth. Yuck!
Each time we visit my mom, Easton gets a little bit more comfortable in and around the lake. This trip, he really enjoyed taking the boat out with Logan.
And got a little bit braver on the rope swing.
I just adore the way he looks at him.
He even had a blast swimming in the lake after Daddy suggested a late afternoon dip. No swim suit needed!
Logan had fun too. 🙂
After a few days of enjoying the lake, it was off to The Players tournament with my sister and brother-in-law! My mom was gracious enough to stay behind with Easton and Amelia. We were so appreciative and I know she had a blast.
Our first day there was a practice round which was great because it wasn’t as crowded and we were able to see a lot of the bigger players up close. I was not allowed to bring my camera inside so all the pictures from there were taken with our cell phones.
We saw David Feherty interviewing Rickie Fowler and then again while we were sitting at the 17th hole. Logan took advantage the second time we saw him and was able to snag a quick photo and autograph! It definitely pays to go during the practice round!
On Thursday, the first day of the competition, we decided to take Easton for the first half of the day. We splurged on tickets that included good food, unlimited adult beverages, a/c, and an awesome view of the 17th hole. Money well spent because it was HOT!!
They had a kids section set up and Easton enjoyed sinking a few putts before heading home to take a nap with Grandma.
Here’s a panoramic view of our seats. We really enjoyed our day at The Players and I know if we ever go back again we’d splurge on the same tickets. It was great to walk around a bit and see some of our favorite players but then have a nice cool place to retreat to. And who doesn’t enjoy free drinks?
We took one day to recover from all our fun and hang out with Grandma again before hitting the road. Both kids did surprisingly well on the trip down and back. Thank you again, mom, for watching the kiddos! I know they had just as much fun as we did.
